Working in Partnership with Parents and Carers
At Blooming Tulips Montessori Nursery, we recognise parents and carers as their child’s first and most important educators. By working closely together, we can provide consistent, individualised support that helps every child thrive.
We maintain regular communication through daily handovers, our online learning platform and termly parent consultations. Parents can view their child’s development, share observations and achievements from home, and discuss progress, interests, next steps or any concerns with their child’s Key Person.
Our Key Persons carefully observe each child’s development and use this knowledge to plan meaningful Montessori experiences based on their individual interests, needs and stage of development. Where helpful, we also suggest activities and resources that families can use at home to continue their child’s learning.
If a child may benefit from additional support, their Key Person and our SENCo work closely with the family to identify needs early and put appropriate support in place. With parental involvement and consent, we work collaboratively with the Local Authority and other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, health visitors and educational professionals, to provide consistent support for the child.
We value parents’ knowledge, views and feedback and encourage families to be actively involved in nursery life. Through open communication, parent feedback and regular opportunities to meet, we aim to build a strong partnership between home and nursery, always keeping the individual child at the heart of everything we do.
Your Child’s Key Person
From the moment your child joins Blooming Tulips Montessori Nursery, they are supported by a dedicated Key Person who takes the time to truly get to know them — their interests, personality, routines, strengths and individual needs.
Working closely with you, the Key Person helps your child feel safe, secure and confident as they settle into nursery life. They observe your child’s development and interests and use this understanding to provide meaningful Montessori learning experiences that encourage independence, curiosity and progress at their own pace.
Your child’s journey is shared with you through regular conversations and our online platform, including observations, photographs and special moments. This creates a strong connection between home and nursery, allowing us to celebrate achievements together and ensure your child receives consistent, individualised support throughout their time at Blooming Tulips.
Confident Steps, Smooth Transitions
At Blooming Tulips Montessori Nursery, we understand that every transition is an important step in a child’s journey. Whether starting nursery, moving between rooms, experiencing changes at home or preparing for school, we aim to make each transition calm, positive and reassuring.
Our Key Persons work closely with families to understand each child’s routines, experiences, interests and individual needs. Where appropriate and with parental consent, we also communicate with previous or future settings and other professionals to ensure important information follows the child.
Transitions are carefully planned around the individual child rather than rushed. Through familiar routines, visits, conversations, stories and sensitive support from trusted adults, we help children understand what is changing and what will happen next.
Our aim is for every child to move forward feeling safe, secure and confident, with strong connections between home, nursery and their next stage of learning.
Someone Special by Their Side
Every child at Blooming Tulips has a dedicated Key Person who takes the time to truly know them — their personality, interests, routines, strengths and individual needs. This special relationship helps your child feel safe, secure and confident from the very beginning.
Working closely with you, the Key Person builds a clear picture of your child’s development and uses their observations to create meaningful Montessori experiences that follow your child’s interests, encourage independence and support their next steps.
Through regular conversations and our app platform, we keep you connected to your child’s nursery journey, sharing observations, photographs and special achievements so that home and nursery can celebrate and support their progress together.
Here When You Need Us
Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. Our dedicated SENCo works closely with children, families, Key Persons and other professionals to identify individual needs and provide the right support at the right time.
If you have any concerns about your child’s development or feel they may need additional support, please speak with your child’s Key Person or Nursery Manager. We will listen, work alongside you and agree the best way forward for your child.
Our approach is guided by the SEND Code of Practice and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), with your child’s individual strengths, needs and wellbeing always at the heart of our support.

At Blooming Tulips Montessori, we cater 0 to 5 years old little adventurers, nurturing their development with authentic passion for care and education through a child-centered approach.
For babies aged 12 weeks to 18 months old (Nido)
In Italian, a Montessori space designed for infants is called nido, which means “nest.” The space expresses all the warmth, love and attachment from the womb. A serene ambience for little ones to feel at ease and snug. It provides a nurturing space for infants aged 12 weeks to 18 months old. Our trained educators care for the little one’s every developmental whimper, aiding their journey to independence while warmly observing their growth and inquisitive explorations.
For children aged 18 months to 2.5-3 years old (Infant Community)
From their newfound independence to remarkable achievements of physical movement, communication, problem-solving ability and social interactions, children between the ages of 18 months and 2.5-3 years thrive during a crucial developmental phase. Our Toddler program nurtures and maximises their potential, providing a compassionate and supportive environment for our youngest learners.
For children aged 2.5-3 to 5 years old (Children’s House)
Our scientifically-designed, carefully crafted program for young ones aged 2.5-3 to 5, focuses on developing knowledge, confidence and social skills. They’ll direct their own activities, building knowledge, confidence, and social skills. Our educator’s gentle encouragement helps the children to utilise all the available materials, to explore practical life activities, geography and mathematics. Our aim is to nourish young minds and encourage growth in a compassionate and nurturing environment.
Forest School inspired learning for 2 to 5 years old
We believe a child’s development flourishes when there is a gentle balance between indoor learning, within our intentionally prepared rooms and garden, and outdoor exploration in the forest. That’s why we dedicate two days each week to forest learning, where nature becomes the child’s guide, teacher, and inspiration.
Our nursery is located just a five minute walk from magical places like The Bury Grounds natural spaces where children’s imaginations are free to run wild. We beautifully blend the Montessori philosophy with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and forest learning, creating a rich and holistic learning experience. Children thrive in these outdoor environments, where free play, fresh air, connection with nature, and physical activity are all cherished parts of their forest learning journey, which takes place two days a week.
